A. Copyright Policy

By signing the agreement, the author assigns all the rights to the journal, for the full term of the copyright. The copyrights include the right to publish, republish, sell, transmit, distribute, or use the contribution as a whole or a part of it in the print or electronic version, in any language, in any form of media, worldwide. It also includes rendering license to others to do the same.

By signing this agreement, the contributor also agrees that while posting, transmitting, distributing, or reproducing the content of this article, the contributor will make appropriate citation to the journal and render credit to TAMPH. Link to the original article should also be provided, wherever necessary. The citation should be made in the following format-

Title of the article, author, title of the journal, volume or issue, copyright year, copyright owner.

B. Retaining rights

Except the above mentioned rights and the copyrights, all other proprietary rights, like patent rights, are held by the contributor or the employer of the contributor, depending upon the nature of article.

C. Permitted Usage

Contributors can use the following versions of their contributions for the respectively mentioned purposes-

1. Submitted version

TAMPH licenses back the following rights to the contributor with respect to the version submitted by him/her:

The contributor has with him/her, the right to print, share, or transmit the copies of the submitted article to his/her colleagues.

The contributor also gets the right to self-archive the submitted version on his/her personal website, placing it in a subject-matter archive, or in the repository of the contributor or his/her employer. This right pertains to both the internet version and the intranet one. But, the contributor cannot change the content of the article or replace the submitted version with the published version.

Once the article gets published, a proper citation should be done of the same as follows:

2. Accepted Version

There is a separate agreement to be made by the contributor with TAMPH regarding re-using the accepted but not the final version of the article. TAMPH has special agreements with certain funding agencies. 3. Final Version

Through this agreement, TAMPH licenses the following rights back to the contributor, with respect to the final version or the published version of the contribution:

Through this agreement, the contributor gets the right to use the content of the published version to make oral presentations based on that content.

Also, the contributor gets the right to use the content for teaching purposes. Under this right, the article can be included in teaching or training at contributor’s own institute or workplace. This includes inclusion of the article in the curricular syllabus, in-house training, distance education resources, e-reserves, or presentations at professional conferences. This should not include any event other than educational events. Moreover, publication of the final version content in the open source format is not permitted. However, posting of the same content on subscription bases is permitted, subjected to the employment of the appropriate access controls.

The contributor also gets the right to re-use the content of the article or portions of it in other publications that are authored or edited by the same author, and, where the published version or its portions form less than 50% of the total content.

The author of the article also gets the right to ask for transmission of personal copies, in any format, to his/her colleagues. No fees should be charged by the author for the same, and no systematic distribution, like posting on websites, or automated delivery should be done.

4. Article Abstracts, Figures, Tables, Data sets, Artwork, and Selected texts

Through this agreement, the contributor gets the right to re-use the unmodified abstracts of the submitted articles for any non-commercial purposes. The author should link the abstracts with the actual article, when using it online.

The contributors can also use the illustrations, tables, selected text up to 250 words from their articles, provided they fulfill the following conditions:

  1. Complete and accurate credit to the article should be given.
  2. Modifications to the illustrations, tables, or data should be noted; otherwise no changes can be made by the author.
  3. This usage cannot be done for any commercial purposes or for getting any financial benefits.
  4. Re-publication of the same content is strictly prohibited and is considered an unethical practice.

D. Articles Owned by the Author’s Employer

If a contributor writes an article during the period of his employment with certain employer, that employer becomes the owner of the article written, and must sign this agreement along with the author. By doing so, the employer hands over all the copyrights, related to the article, to TAMPH, for the full term of copyright. This is applicable worldwide.

The rights that are retained by the author in the earlier case are here retained by the employer.

E. Government Contracts

When an article is prepared under the US Government contract or grant, the Government can reproduce the whole of the article or portions of it, or, may give others the authority to do the same. This can be done only for the official Government Purposes, and only if the grant or the contract requires the Government to do so.

F. Copyright Notice

Through this agreement, the author or the employer agrees to include the copyright notice as mentioned in the journal and the full citation to the journal and the publishers. This is to be included in all the copies of the final version of the article, whether circulated in print or electronic format.

G. Author’s Representations

While making this agreement with TAMPH, the author ensures that he/she is the author of the material submitted by him/her, the work is his/her original work, all the people identified as contributors/co-authors have actually contributed in the article, and all the co-authors are included in the list of contributors and the agreement made. If the article was created in collaboration, the author must ensure that he/she informs the co-authors regarding the agreement and its terms and procure their signature on the agreement or their permission to sign on their behalf. The author must also ensure that the article he/she submits to TAMPH has not been published earlier by any other publishers in any format. Versions submitted to other publishers but not published or considered to be published can be considered an exception. If the article contains excerpts from the works owned by third parties, the author should procure written permission from that third party for the usage of that excerpt and give proper credit to those third parties in the article. The author must also ensure that the article he submits does not contain any derogatory remarks or statements regarding anything, or that the content doesn’t infringe upon the rights or privacy of anybody. Also the author must ensure that the article does not contain any contents that can cause any harm or injury.
